Chen Weiyan (the Guangxu Period of the Qing Dynasty - 1926)
    His alternative name was Yangyun Jushi, or Chengyi Daoren. His another name is Hui Nan and his ancestral home was in Shiwan. He was one of the most famous potters at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China. He enjoyed great fame in the fields of figures, animal sculptures and vessels and he was good at imitating the glazes and vessels of other famous kilns in ancient China. He was a talented sculptor working at his works with great care, attaching greater importance to the true depiction of details. His works were vivid and lifelike descriptions of the world around himself. The famous ceramic artist, Pan Yushu, was apprenticed to him.
